Charge your electric car everywhere
In 2009, Yoann decided to look into buying an electric car, searching for locations where he could charge while away from home, but he was unable to find anything suitable.
This is what inspired him to come up with the idea for ChargeMap; a tool that would bring together drivers of electric cars to share information on charging points to allow them to charge their cars anywhere.
Working with fellow enthusiasts, he started to research and document charging points in France in 2011 before expanding the search to the rest of Europe. This small team set to work taking photos of the charging points and checking that they worked properly, after which, users took over using the mobile app.
Today, tens of thousands of electric car drivers all over the world use the ChargeMap service. They use ChargeMap to find locations where they can recharge their cars and, in return, contribute to improving the standard of available information to make it accessible to everyone.
The service has also won over electric car manufacturers and charging network operators, who are also involved with ChargeMap, which further supports the growth of our start up.
Our aim is to make the lives of electric car drivers easier. As such, we also seek to encourage the development of these vehicles in order to improve air quality and people’s overall well-being.
That’s what makes us get up in the morning, and we are proud of what we do!
